Springtime Elopement In The Majestic Yosemite Valley
Raging waterfalls and a glorious rainbow
Spring is a magical time to be in the Yosemite valley. The waterfalls are raging with the snowmelt from winter storms and the entire region becomes flush with greenery. If you’re planning on eloping in the springtime it’s a destination you should seriously consider. My favorite month to go is April as it is less crowded but the views are in their prime. These two certainly made a great choice on when and where to have their elopement.
I met Abby and Cleave at sunrise for an intimate wedding ceremony with their family and friends. As you’ll see from these photos this couple was madly in love and it really shined through. And they followed the golden rule of eloping, that is to have an absolute blast, to a tee. As the golden rays of the sun peaked down into the Yosemite Valley we set off to explore the winding trails through quiet meadows. The snow melt was in full force and we found the rivers overflowing the banks and the falls absolutely roaring as they thundered down from the cliffs above. As the day came to a close we decided it would be worth getting soaked by the mists of Bridalveil Falls and made our way to the base of the cascade. Boy did we make the right call! We found a gorgeous rainbow suspended in the heavy mists of the falls and you can’t ask for a more magical backdrop than that. Talk about an unforgettable elopement experience.
