Unforgettable Sunrise Ceremony at Washburn Point
An incredible sunrise, towering trees, and views to die for
There are many locations you can have your wedding ceremony site in Yosemite National Park but few of them offer views that could compare to Washburn Point. Just before reaching the more famous Glacier Point viewing area, you’ll find this picturesque stop along the winding road. With stellar views of Half Dome, Nevada and Vernal Falls this spot is perfect for eloping couples who want an intimate ceremony. I highly recommend planning your elopement here at sunrise and you’ll see why.
One can always plan and hope for an incredible sunrise but the weather and location doesn’t always cooperate. Too much cloud cover, no clouds whatsoever, the sun behind a mountain, there are just so many variables that can make the sunrise less than what you were dreaming of. But for Ian and Linda the stars aligned and their ceremony turned out extraordinary. After an intimate ceremony done by Donny over at Yosemite Adventure Elopements at Washburn Point we set off to hike the park. From the awe inspiring cliffs of Taft Point, to the towering ancient trees of the Merced Giant Sequoia grove, these two had quite the adventure. And to end this incredible journey, we went to one of my favorite locations in the park for a sunset session, Olmsted Point. There we got killer views of Half Dome and Lake Tenaya that many pass right by.
