October Elopment To Many Glacier’s Swiftcurrent Lake
Broken bones and gusting winds couldn’t stop this glacier love story
A little broken, but unbeaten
This one was certainly a first for me as an elopement photographer. A few weeks before my flight out to Montana I received an email from bride Ashley. When I read “I have broken my leg” I assumed the next line would read “so we have canceled our elopement to Glacier National Park.” But oh no, the elopement was still on and Matt and Ashley weren’t going to let some broken bones mess with their romantic escape to Montana’s pristine wilderness. With a lot of guts, and some truly great friends, they made this an elopement all of us will never forget.
Eloping to East Glacier’s Mountainous Wonderland
For their Glacier elopement destination Matt and Ashley had decided to elope to the eastern side of the park. The mountains of East Glacier rise abruptly creating towering monoliths of black stone that are usually dusted with snow creating a beautiful contrast. It’s by far my favorite area of the park. From their intimate ceremony on the windy (more like crazy windy) shores of Swiftcurrent Lake, home to the famous Many Glacier Hotel, to the final shots of the day at Running Eagle Falls near Two Medicine Lake, it was one jaw droppingly beautiful moment after another. And Ashley did it all with a broken leg in a cast! Talk about tough. But enough talk, you just have to see it for yourself!
