Lake Mcdonald Elopement in Glacier National Park, Montana
Katie and Bryan’s Adventurous Elopement in Glacier National Park, Montana
Storms and a Sunrise ceremony on Lake Mcdonald
Glacier National Park had been on the top of my travel list for sometime now. So when Katie’s email came in with the subject “Glacier National Park elopement”, I was absolutely thrilled and boy did it live up to the hype. Glacier truly is the “crown of the continent” and, as I found out, as wild as it is beautiful. I arrived a few days early to scout things out and was met with strong winds, hail, and torrential rain. I woke the morning of the ceremony a little worried, but the skies cleared and gave us perfect weather for adventuring and creating beautiful photos. To start things off these two love birds tied the knot on the shores of the beautiful, and crystal clear Lake McDonald just after sunrise. It was intimate, and breathtakingly beautiful. A moment these two will never forget.
To The trail of cedars and beyond
Since the Going to the Sun Road was still closed in June, our plan was to do a hike on the western side of Glacier, then go around to hike about the east. So after their gorgeous lakeside ceremony, we put on our hiking boots and walked the boardwalks of the Trail of Cedars, then hiked a few miles up to Avalanche Lake. The numerous hikers we passed really got a kick out of seeing Katie and Bryan in their formal attire going up the trail. Both trails were absolutely stunning and made the perfect backdrop for the adventurous wedding photos we had envisioned. But don’t take my word for it, check out the beautiful photos below.
